About Me
About Me

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and Certified Psychodramatist, I have 30+ years of experience in the field of addiction treatment and general therapy, helping others find ways to lead happier lives. Eclectic in my approach, I incorporate EMDR, DBT, EFT, Mindfulness, Action Methods and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to provide you with the best possible treatment outcome. My work with adults, adolescents, children and families has been enhanced by my experiences in therapeutic school settings, alcohol/drug treatment programs and mental health facilities.
I frequently work in consultation with other therapists, providing substance abuse assessments and treatment in conjunction with the primary therapeutic work being done by the referring therapist.
In addition to my clinical skills, I am a PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor at Rocking Horse Rehab (RHR). I developed RHR’s equine assisted mental health services (which include social skills programs) for those struggling with ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Bi-Polar Disorder, High Functioning Autism (Asperger’s) and PDD. My social skills training manual,
Horsemanship/Humanship Skills: How Horses Make Us Better People,
is internationally known and has been utilized by the University of Minnesota for curriculum development and at Prescott College’s equine assisted mental health program in Arizona.
HORSES: Healing Opportunities Reinforce Skills for Emotional Stability, is my equine facilitated DBT program. HORSES allows participants of all ages to practice their DBT skills in the moment as they engage in their healing process with the horses. Work with equines offers us the opportunity to learn and practice our coping skills in a non-judgmental atmosphere, practice mindfulness, personal safety, manage change and achieve balance in daily living.
Professionally, I have presented at several PATH Intl. Conferences, as well as the NAMI Annual Conference. I supervise student interns from various colleges/universities and, most recently, I am a guest lecturer at Rutgers University in New Brunswick.
